After hearing visions and predictions about the future from designer/scientist/techno-geek perspectives at the 4th edition of Lift Conference in Geneva I am lucky enough to continue my intellectual, and more tiring physical journey to Warwick Uni, where the first independently organised TEDx event is taking place today.
The atmosphere is quite different (more students with less laptops) but the programme seems in the same way inspirational. Except me taking part as a participant observer at the conferences there is an other person binding the two event together as a speaker: Francois Grey. His talk at LIFT09 gave us the idea to invite him for our event at Warwick, where he will be talking about citizen cyberscience and the importance of cybervolunteering in scientific projects.
So far we have heard a futuristic perspective about the human-machine convergence by Ian Pearson and the importance of spirituality in quantum physics by Jay Lakhani but for now it is time to return into the conference room…
